Living in the Present Moment

August 21, 2024 Living in the Present Moment: Or at least trying to.

This morning I went with my Mom to her meditation group.  Such nice people.

"No expectations" was kind of the theme.  The group meditated but also talked about being "present" and that maybe we don't have to help "fix" people or situations.  That maybe if we listen, and stay still in the moment, that people or situations we perceive to need help or that we think should change in some way, will do just that, simply because our minds and hearts are open to the Universe/God and what the Universe/God's plan in all of this is.

Well, that's what I got out of it anyway.  Frankly, it's the way I've always been...a lot of listening, maybe a little too much sniffing, definitely a lot of licks.

My Mom will tell you she's no meditation guru, she's pretty sure she doesn't have a clue as to how the Universe works.

She thinks that deeply breathing and staying quiet in the presence of what life is presently revealing, might be a path for her.

My Mom's friend Mike, also part of the meditation group, shared his personal mantra, which my Mom really likes:

"The energy of love, light and truth will prevail on the planet Earth."

I'd say it's a positive affirmation.  I think it's one the Universe might agree with.

“Life is short.
Be swift to Love,
make haste to be kind.”
