Today is Sunday and my Mom thought it would be a good day to make it a restful Sunday.
Onyx was totally on board with resting, as you can see from her photo.
My Mom decided to straighten up the front deck and all her plants. Just focusing on nature’s beauty really is restful. She really wants this to be a butterfly garden and slowly but surely she has had a few visitors.
My Mom could not get Onyx to come outside to the front deck. For all of Onyx’ ferocious behavior towards dogs, for one, and then not being that friendly towards people, she’s really a scaredy cat when it comes to new things. And the front deck in her very familiar catpen, was that sort of new thing.
As you can see from the catpen photo, Onyx is quite comfy on the back deck.
My Mom’s friend Crissy, an Ayurvedic practitioner, here in Lake Tahoe, really got my Mom started on plants, the indoor types. Crissy suggested that having plants around my Mom in her judge office and at home would be good for my Mom’s mental and physical health.
I think she was right. My Mom went from no plants to about 60 at home and 40 in her office. We think it was very beneficial and boy were they beautiful. And, I believe they had a relaxing effect on my Mom. I know she’d agree.
Now if I can just find some photos, you’ll get the general idea.
My Mom even had a plant on her courtroom bench in Jersey City, Landlord Tenant Court. That photo is here too.
We hope your Sundays are restful, and if it can't be a Sunday, pick another day!
