My Mom was getting overwhelmed with papers in her office today. Onyx was nosying around while my Mom was in there.
She's never much help but my Mom likes to know she's around.
I stay out of my Mom's way until she's relaxing on the back deck, pen in hand and most days with some prosecco and chips.
Oh, and of course, Onyx in her catpen, eyeballing the blue jays.
My Mom bought 2 birdbaths for right off the deck. The second one arrived today but isn't set up yet.
This copper colored one is pretty and my Mom thinks it's in the perfect spot. Only one blue jay has been drinking from it though,
at least we've only seen one each day. Not sure if he or she is the same bird each day and why there is only one.
It's close to the deck so my Mom can fill it. Sure hope they appreciate it.
My Mom said she took over taking care of the garden when she and her siblings were growing up on Columbia Street, in Wood-Ridge (NJ).
She especially loved the stone birdbath and keeping it filled with fresh water. She loved puttering around in the garden.
I'm not sure if my Mom took care of the garden all through high school, or even at the start. Her Mom died when my Mom was finishing 6th grade.
I'm sure lots of things changed after that. But for sure my Mom hasn't lost her love for garden flowers and plants and trees.
Photos should be right below. Thanks for reading. It's nice to know that someone is listening.
