I'm certainly glad we're in Napa and not at home.  

Onyx is not happy that my Mom is not home and she's taking it out on Cayla, her sitter.

Cayla is our neighbor and friend, and couldn't be nicer.  What did she sign up for?

Cayla's first visit was yesterday at lunchtime.  Cayla reported that it was "so far so good".  My Mom was so happy to hear this.  

Apparently Onyx let Cayla in the house and Onyx even rubbed against her legs.

I'm not holding my breath about Onyx behaving herself.  I guess we'll see.

It wasn't a surprise to learn that at dinnertime, Onyx barely let Cayla in the kitchen without trying to attack her a couple of times.  Oy.

As it turns out, Cayla went back in later to close the windows (because of the bears), wearing boots and carrying a broom for protection.  

For the record, I just want to say that I understand why the attempted bear break-in a few weeks ago, was not successful.  

Getting past Onyx is no easy task for man/woman or beast.  She's pretty impressive actually.

I do think she needs to ease up on her guarding activities, to allow Cayla to come in the house at least, 

after all, she controls Onyx' food and treats.  Let's hope she can be a little more discerning, for her own sake.

Please don't tell Onyx that Mom is going to Montana in September.

I was hiding from Cayla and hoped she'd just leave.

Mom, you are forbidden from traveling.

If I close my eyes and then open them, Mom will appear.

When will this week end.
