My Mom started the day with acupuncture. A little something to get her energy flowing correctly throughout her body.
Gina, my Mom's acupuncturist, is renowned for her care in this Tahoe area.
Gina helps my Mom stay away from asthma issues mostly, and for that my Mom is grateful.
She once even helped my Mom after dental work, to ease the trauma in that area and to help the healing process.
And...did you know there are acupuncturists who work on animals?
Nia, my Mom's sister Robin's dog, (that's a mouthful), had acupuncture to help her heal and then walk, after a VERY serious spinal injury!
She did remarkably well. You'll read all about her in her own book that we're writing. She looks great in this photo!
Well, anyway, that's how the day started, with pussycat Onyx ignoring my Mom as she left for her appointment.
Later, my Mom did some wash and hung it outside on the clothesline. She loves to do that.
She doesn't see any neighbors' wash outside and thinks it must be too old-fashioned. For her, it's kind of a small accomplishment. She hangs the clothes in an orderly fashion, lets them dry, folds them, and brings them into the house. Job complete.
She says it's way different from hearing a trial that might go on for days, or writing a judicial opinion that may take a lot of time and thinking.
This new life is refreshing! Onyx and I LOVE that she's retired!
Here's a clothesline shot, actually used in Book 3 about Gray the bachelor cat.
Then on to the bigger tasks. My Mom has a meeting with Patti Zorr, our book marketer, this week.
Before then, my Mom has to review our new website, to make sure it's as she likes it.
She has already completed the excel sheet of her contacts. If you're reading this, you like that my Mom contacted you, but she's not so sure of A LOT of people she's added to that list. The reason is because my Mom went through her entire phone contacts' list and added most everyone who she has a number for.
You have to understand my Mom to know that she may have first names and numbers for people because she at one point met them and liked them.
We don't want to annoy people so we hope if they don't like the contacting, that they let my Mom know, or just "opt out".
My Mom is about positive thoughts and helping people to feel good, not bad.
The whole point of all of this is two-fold, my Mom likes to write and she hopes that through her writing she'll be able to help animals, people and I guess generally, the planet.
Maybe it's a legacy. Doing something that matters, in the long run.
So, that was today. Stay tuned for more fascinating details of our lives!
Thanks for reading!
