September 21, 2024 A Very Early Morning Adventure.
The days toward the end of our week in Montana seemed to blaze by, everything seems to have been jammed together at the end, not really, but in retrospect it felt that way.
One of those days, VERY early in the morning, we traveled into the hills to spot bears roaming around or resting.
I think we were on the road at 6-6:30 a.m., all set with multiple pairs of binoculars.
It was a very early and beautiful morning
My Mom and Tanya were able to spot movement out in some open areas.
They were able to spot a mom and 2 cubs, another mom and cubs and a couple of stray bears wandering around.
Now mind you, they were totally at a distance, and definitely not able to be made out with the naked eye, thank God.
I think Tanya counted 11 in all.
We didn't see any other wildlife but there certainly were trucks out there with their owners and others set up with peering devices.
We thought we were up early, those folks looked like they had been there a while.
A pretty little stream running through the dense brush.
On this particular hill that we were on, the landowners had set out fire extinguishers and other items in case of fire.
With all these strangers plopping themselves out there, the landowners clearly don't trust that some person wouldn't throw out a cigarette or start a fire in another way.
There are too many fields of grain and grass that could be lit up accidently,
so no chances taken, or at least precautions were made.
A very clear notice of No Smoking!
