Bad timing on my Mom's part this past Sunday, or maybe perfect timing, who knows.
My Mom usually goes to see the horses at about 9:30-10:00 a.m. This week she went later, at about 11:30 a.m. - 12:00 noon.
Not such a great idea, since the horses would be getting some lunch at about one o'clock.
My Mom groomed Max (the 40 year old!) before his lunch came, so he was happy to be groomed, but after eating, our new horse Wiki was NOT at all interested in my Mom touching him. He is on pain medication, so maybe he wasn't up to a grooming. Not sure, but that's what my Mom thinks, after all, she did take that animal communication course.
Here are the boys having lunch, getting ready to NOT be groomed!
But when it came time for treats, Wiki was right there with Scooter, ready for some carrots.
What they didn't know was that Kristen's Dad, Glenn (owners of the center) was going to stop to say hi to my Mom. AND to go to his office to get "Barn Bites" for the horses! He's holding the treats at the top of the blog.
Glenn has manufactured horse treats, which I have to say, smell AMAZING! One is made with apples, the other, carrots. So after having some organic carrots from my Mom, she also gave the boys Barn Bites, from Glenn. Gosh! They LOVED them!
My Mom asked Glenn how large the property is for the Equestrian Center, he said 40 acres plus land he leases to grow hay for the horses. Wow! That sounds like just enough land to give horses a beautiful life. And he told my Mom that he paints! Not houses, but canvases! This guy is incredible and so nice.
My Mom can tell that Kristen is Glenn's daughter, she has his piercing blue eyes.
Glenn talked about Mija (the horse that passed recently) and Max and some of their other horses. They truly are horse lovers. My Mom was so happy to meet him!
Now we just need to get more of those Barn Bites for "our" horses!
Here's Glenn, Kristen's Dad
Glenn with his Barn Bites!
Beautiful Faralli of course participated in the treats!
We're hoping you're beginning to love our horses. Giving love is wonderful for your heart and even your health. We think so!
If you have any comments or thoughts, you can always text my Mom at 201-388-0241,
or email her at [email protected]
Life is short. Be kind! Love a lot!
