The days are flying!
Not a bit of writing!
Just all kinds of "stuff" going on!
My Mom was surprised with an email from Wordzworth, the book formatters. They finished re-formatting our Book 4 eBook, The Thinning of the Veil! Thankfully! Because we want to promote this book for Christmas!
After all, it IS a Christmas story. It was written right after our Gray died in October of 2019.
Gray, a really beautiful boy
We wrote it as kind of a 6 weeks before Christmas tale, which actually took a really unexpected turn. It started as a "Gee I wonder if Gray will finally show my Mom that he was grateful for her care" and turned into a story about a different pussycat all together, Ellie, who really needed positive energy sent her way.
We didn't expect it to end the way it did but it turned into a beautiful, spiritual, tale of Love.
Anyway....we're trying to get the updated formatted version onto Amazon. We think the Universe will do exactly as it pleases.
We can only hope that our plans are one with its plans for life as we want it and/or live it. While my Mom is trying to get our book marketing moving along with Patti Zorr our book marketer, regular day to day life goes on.
My Mom stopped to take a photo of one HUGE rainbow on her way to see Gina the acupuncturist. It's the photo at the beginning of this post. It was beautiful and so very uplifting! It would have raised the vibrations of any single person observing it.
Rainbows seem to automatically trigger very broad smiles!
And yesterday, my Mom and Robin (her sister) had a great lunch at a place called The Idle Hour, right on the beach at Lake Tahoe. The food was awesome and the view!
A yummy hot cauliflower dip and a grilled cheese with apple slices
Well, you know already......FANTASTIC!
Lake Tahoe is just so beautiful.
A storm was definitely brewing
Just so beautiful
They wanted to meet for sure since Robin will be very busy for the next month. I know, it's a long time. But I know that both Robin and my Mom will fill their days until they see each other again. Christmas will definitely be "at our throats" by then.
Oh, I can't forget to tell you that Onyx had a new Vet visit. Oh geez, my Mom is still digesting if this move was a mistake. Our little darling mountain lion pussycat was OVER THE TOP stressed out! So much so that my Mom had to leave the Vet room TWICE!
Geezus, they had Onyx in a chokehold to clip her nails and put a microchip in her upper back. OY! It was horrible.
Onyx before the chokehold
My Mom is taking full responsibility. Since she is the student Animal Communicator, she should have told Onyx about the new Vet. She did not.
When they got to the office, my Mom didn't realize that there were 2 distinct areas, one for cats and one for dogs. My Mom stayed on the dog side and Onyx was off and running with guttural mountain lion sounds. She did NOT like seeing any dogs! We're not sure if she would have been any different on the cat side actually.
Well anyway, Onyx was PUSSED OFF, to say the least and was at the height of anger and defensiveness while waiting A LONG time to see the Doctor.
Double Oy!
Thankfully no staff was injured. Onyx was brawling! It wasn't pretty and my Mom was soooo upset. Once at home, Onyx threw herself on my Mom's lap and conked out for a very long time.
Onyx thoroughly conked
My Mom had not wanted to disturb her AT ALL.
The trauma was still fresh for my Mom the next day, and my Mom would not move Onyx from her lap, even during her entire Pilates class with Brett, her instructor, which became a chat rather than a session. My Mom just couldn't move Onyx, who once again conked out on her lap.
A second conking
I think Onyx needed serious lap time to drain all the angst out of her body after a very traumatic Vet visit. The Vet and his staff were all very nice people but this was not a match made in Heaven. We'll let you know if we go back there.
To take her mind off her troubling past, my Mom used the laser on a light her former client, Christine, sent her. It was a special promotion supporting animal rescue.
It was such a thoughtful gift and it actually worked wonders in getting Onyx (and my Mom) to think about something other than the harrowing Vet office experience.
The light with the laser, from Christine
Onyx absolutely LOVES the laser and has not figured out that my Mom makes the laser move all around the living room and kitchen. Thanks Chris!
A few more things.
My Mom and Robin went to dinner after the South Tahoe High School performance of Little Shop of Horrors. The show was so fun. They ate at Cafe Fiore (my Mom's favorite restaurant in South Lake Tahoe) which is CLOSING in the Spring!
Good Lord, a major part of what my Mom misses about New Jersey is the food and now this!! Oh dear. My Mom might really have to learn to cook! Oy!
That's a wrap for now! Thanksgiving is just around the bend. We have so much to be thankful for. A beautiful environment to live in, lovely neighbors and friends, Robin is close by, their brother Mark and his wife Barbara are just down the road in San Francisco, (well, 4 or so hours away), our family and friends in New Jersey and around the country, and our books are getting out and about to raise money for animal rescue.
We're grateful for Patti Zorr and her book marketing work, a warm cozy cabin, so many wonderful alternative health care providers, all the tradesmen who keep us safe; a healthy mountain lion pussycat, my Mom's good health and creative energy, her meditation group.....I could go on.
May you be as Blessed as we are, may you see the beauty all around you and may every rainbow you encounter, lift your spirits.
Much Love and gratitude for your support of our stories and animal rescue!
