April 5, 2025 Birthday Week for Maisy and Marybeth!
I think that Spring just naturally lifts people's spirits, don't you think?
A sunny sky, warmer temperatures, trees with buds on them, birds coming and going.
We're happy to have more things to LOVE.
I'm not sure if Rhonda Byrne ("The Secret") said it but my Mom thinks it...a lot a lot....
"You can't keep a positive thought AND a negative thought in your mind at the same time.
So...choose a positive one!"
It's the same thing as choosing to see all that you LOVE.
It's a choice and eventually it becomes a mindset, a way of life.
That's what my Mom thinks anyway, and I'm going with it.
Actually she can take me anywhere she wants to go.
Because, I think her energy heals.
Whether it comes through writing or her hands, during horse or cat care, or simply just her presence.
She doesn't want to hurt anyone.
She wants to lift them up, to see their best self, to encourage them in their dreams, or make them smile when life is feeling a little too much to take.
But it's not just my Mom, everyone has "the energy of light", which is really simply good "VIBES".
Good energy, good vibrations!
Share your happiness, share good things or fun things that have happened to you.
Share what you are grateful for.
Say things that lift people up.
Share your biscuits or cookies or banana bread, or soup you've made.
Bring someone who is not as well as you are, something to eat or read or look at, like a bunch of pretty flowers.
Help people to find things to brighten their lives.
On that note, I hope these photos brighten your day.
At the top of this post is Charlotte, my Mom's great-niece.
She's the prettiest of all the flowers!
Next, I want to say that my Birthday was this past week.
Thank you. Thank you.
In the picture below, my Mom set out my ashes (not to be morbid, just out of respect), a candle, and a little dish of half and half in case I was thirsty (Just a symbol of her LOVE and care).

Ningtao, our darling Lois' Dad, created an image of me with a Birthday greeting for my Mom.
Her Birthday was this week too! How cute do I look? Thanks Ningtao!

While we're in a cartoon kind of mode, here's a card my Mom received from her friend Eileen.
No offense Onyx but it is soooo YOU!

On my Mom's Birthday, her brother Mark and wife Barb came up from San Francisco,to help celebrate with my Mom and Robin.
In the morning, before all the festivities, my Mom saw a pretty Robin (the bird)....
So Springlike right?
Seeing birds is a joyful experience.
Later, the whole gang went to the "Idle Hour" in town and had a swell time.
They even toasted a young couple from Houston who had just gotten engaged!

Vincenza and Kelly, who work there, joined in the fun!

Btw, my Mom's friend Ray was supposed to be here this week.
He had to cancel but will re-book his flight when the weather is warmer.
He was actually glad he missed ANOTHER snowstorm!

My Mom decided that it's time to put this sign away!
Last but not least, a few horse stories.
Scooter (the oldest of the Seniors) had a "BioScan" and treatment, last week, by Donnis Thran, the Wonder Woman of horse care.
After scanning Scooter's entire body, she gave him light (infrared) and sound therapy.
He was SUCH a good boy throughout.
My Mom can't wait to go back tomorrow and see if Scooter is doing better.
He's scheduled for another treatment.
Fingers crossed.
Scooter is probably 95 years old in human years so....any body treatment will benefit him, at least that's what my Mom thinks and hopes.
Donnis is at the side of Scooter.
Wiki (who lives with Scooter) is patiently waiting his turn.

I almost forgot, how about this photo of Donnis when she was a very young girl!
She's sitting atop her horse "Pete Lyini".
Another person with a lifelong connection to horses!
We love that!
Donnis knew all about horses, even then!
