April 25, 2025  It's Always Good To Have a Backup For Your Main Bathroom!

April 25, 20257 min read

As promised (or threatened), more Utah!

Here's a photo taken from Robin's deck:

And...in a pinch, there's a second bathroom in the yard! (No thanks!)

That's the photo at the top of this post.

One day during Kathe and my Mom's stay with Robin, they drove into the town of Moab, probably 45 minutes away.

This felt like my Mom and Kathe's trip to Montana (See the blog posts from September 16-21, 2024) everything seems so far away in these big states.

This photo was taken from the truck on the way to town

My Mom and the girls were on a food mission.

They also wanted to see the many art installations throughout the downtown.

This is a very artsy region!

And in town, they went to see "Cosmo", the cat, at Moab's Grand County Public Library Branch.

Cosmo, a young stray, wandered into the library one day, and never left.

Apparently he writes a weekly column for the Moab Sun News.

He must have just finished his column before we came in.

He seemed fast asleep.

His bed (maybe one of many) is right at the front desk.

He must be a sound sleeper.

The girls stopped at a great food truck park for lunch, and had a grand time walking around town shopping.

They also stopped at a properly placed ice cream shop as well.

The following day, the girls drove to the Sorrel River Ranch, to check out their restaurant.

Looks like it wasn't up and running yet, to their chagrin.

Food is always on my Mom and Robin's mind,

I think it's a family trait.

But, my Mom did take some beautiful photos from the restaurant deck.

Once again, the Colorado River running along the land.

And she spent some time on the property with a young pussycat, who seemed quite in need of some Loving.

A really big, beautiful rooster was also marching around the property.

There was a chicken with him but not at the time of this photo.

My Mom didn't take any photos of the horses on the property, (there were at least a dozen), but she did spend some time talking with one or two of them.

The ranch does have horseback riding, but that didn't seem to be up and running yet either.

By the way, did you know that horses graze from 12-20 hours a day, depending on what's available to them?

My Mom was thinking that maybe these horses, were happy not to have a saddle and a person on their backs in the hot sun.

We hope the caretakers at the Sorrel are excellent at what they do.

My Mom expects that only the best care is given to the Sorrel horses, since the ranch is quite reputable.

It's a beautiful place.

If you can believe it, there's more to be told about the Utah trip!

We hope you enjoy these adventures.

We think that sharing stories about nature and animals is good for the Heart.

Thanks for reading!
