Thank you Jill Louise for always making my Mom laugh.

August 16, 2025 Those We Love Are Always With Us.

August 16, 202510 min read

Is it just me or is our summer zooming by?

Gosh it's been so beautiful here at Lake Tahoe, but ya know what?

It's beautiful here all year long, even in the snow.

A least that's what we think.

It's been a very family and friends' friendly summer.

There has been A LOT A LOT of Love being shared,

and we're pretty certain you've experience that too.

My Mom wants me to share some of the Love with you.

It has come in different ways

Some in poetry, some in photos, some in drawings.

Sometimes photos speak volumes about Love and Joy,

at other times words express deep Love without actually saying those words.

My Mom's Godfather, her Uncle Frank, was a published poet.

Writing runs in my Mom's family.

Besides Uncle Frank, Uncle Will and Aunt Pink were also writers.

I'd say cousins Mary Anne and Sally are too.

The family is full of word writers and speakers, and comedians too.

Pretty entertaining bunch.

Apropos of summer and the beautiful wild flowers that grow here at Lake Tahoe,

here is Uncle Frank's poem about wild flowers:

  🏵️ WILD FLOWER'S CORONATION 🏵️

Everyone rushed to the flower show to drink in all the beauty.

While out along the highway, our wild flower did its duty.

Of course, the Queen would soon come by to judge the best of show,

But how these ceremonies went, poor wild flower would not know.

Yet a child did wait to see her Queen, in empty hand despair,

"Oh, If I had an orchid she might wear it in her hair."

The wild flower suddenly brightened up and the child knew what to do,

She picked the splendid blossom and to the Queen she flew.

Her Majesty gave blue ribbons for win and place and show,

And WILD FLOWER became a coronet with a diamond's

sparkling glow.

F.X. Rogers

Another poem that my Mom read recently, really touched her.

It's about Love and would we trade it.

We don't think so.

if you look closely at the next photo, you'll see little kayak charms.

Mom's kindergarten pal Deb is such a creative person.

See the post about Deb from 5/2/25

Deb is making charm bracelets for all of the women in her kayaking group.

They share a Love for the water and each other.

When speaking of Love, my Mom always has to mention her darling Lois.

Lois is mentioned in my Book 4 and Book 5, she's a big part of our lives.

My Mom will be spending time with Lois and her Dads in October, in Sarasota, Florida.

She hasn't seen her in almost 3 years!

Anne's new Love "Balta" is doing extremely well,

ever since Anne became his new Mom.

You may remember Balthazar from the 2/25/25 Part 2 post.

My Mom knew "Balta" before Anne came on the scene at the ranch.

Anne seems just as happy as "Balta" now.

Anne and Balta

Now here's a man who Loves his work.

This is John Lance, Wiki's farrier.

And my Mom is pretty sure that Wiki Loves John taking care of his hooves.

After all, horses stand on them nearly 24 hours a day!

I think I've mentioned that my Mom's symbol for Love is a swan.

Well, when I posted the beautiful photo of a swan in my post of 7/26/25,

I couldn't remember who took the photo.

I now know that it was taken by my Mom's high school friend Linda, the world traveler.

The photo still feels surreal, and special.

Swans = LOVE, for my Mom

Swans = LOVE, for my Mom

And here's a reminder, in case you haven't had a minute to yourself this summer,

and if you can, spend some of that time near water.

AHH

AHH

And if you can't be around water, do or be around ART.

It's a different kind of soul refresher.

AHH

AHH

And if ever there was a soul refresher,

it was when Jill Louise, my Mom's best friend from High School,

was laughing so hard she was crying.

My Mom is certain that Jill is in Heaven cheering on the crowds and lifting their "spirits".

My Mom Loves this photo, and she'll always Love Jill.

And by the way, my Mom dedicated my first book to Jill.  See Book 1

If there ever was a trip that was lead by Love itself,

it was the Manney trip to Ireland, to celebrate Jim and Sue's 80th Birthdays!

(These are family members on my Mom's stepmom's side of the family.)

Emmett the boy, from Ann Arbor, Michigan, Loved being a co-pilot on that trip

at least for a few minutes before take off.

Love supported those airplane wings as the family traveled the airways.

Happiness, Love and warm hearts accompanied them,

and everyone who came in contact with them, we are sure.

This new little guy is Kai,

my Mom's friend Carol's grandson.

If his isn't the face of Joy and Love, there will never be one!

"Bring it on life!"  Kai's ready for you!

Ready when you are, Life!

Ready when you are, Life!

I know I mentioned my Mom's meditation group's yard sale, See post 7/26/25 again!

It seems that same day, pretty Mija picked out a strong and sturdy new dog house for herself!

She's already moved in her blanket!

She Loves it!

Next is a thought that my Mom read somewhere and really Loved.

(Author unknown to us).

It speaks to what Love can do for a person.

Small gestures, we never consider, can change a life.

Life changing simple acts

While we're discussing friendships,

here are 2 photos of my Mom's sister Robin's puppy, Alfie. See posts 6/9, 6/21 and 7/26/25!

Alfie has been in a few posts, he's becoming a regular.

Like his Mom, he has A LOT A LOT of very supportive, Loving friends.

Lastly, this thought may not always be ready to be heard,

but my Mom thinks it may be sarcastic, but pretty true.

 Love endures!

Love endures!

Love is pretty powerful and pretty much is all around us.

We just have to have the sense or senses to see, or feel, or taste, or hear or even smell it!

It's everywhere.

Thanks for letting me share my thoughts,

my Mom's thoughts and our Love

with you.

LOVE,

Maisy❤️
