Your Little Tiny Feet Made a Direct Connection

November 22, 2025 Your Little Tiny Feet Made a Direct Connection: from feet, to finger, to Heart.

November 17, 2025•8 min read

Today there was a little snow.

The yard,

kind of looked like a shake of a snow globe.

It's our first snowfall.

At least it's the first my Mom has seen this year.

Before this change in the weather,

my Mom was putting out some seeded bread

for the birds and squirrels,

when she felt something swoosh close to her head.

She thought maybe it was a blue jay,

but it was a little swarm of birds, chickadees.

There must have been half a dozen.

One little guy landed on a branch,

less than a foot away from my Mom's face.

She stepped back,

put a small piece of bread on the palm of her hand,

and the little chickadee landed,

gave my Mom a glance,

took the bread and flew away.

Then, one by one,

piece by piece,

they came to sit on my Mom's finger,

took a piece of bread and left.

My Mom's sister, Robin,

had told her that chickadees will do that.

My Mom was pretty amazed and excited.

When she went back in the house,

she immediately researched the spiritual meaning,

of a wild animal trusting you to feed it,

(chickadees in particular).

The symbolism,

is a deep spiritual connection

between you and the natural world.

Building trust in your own spiritual path.

She learned quite a bit about these little chickadees:

1. They have an indomitable spirit, (says Tom Brown, a tracker);

2. Ralph Waldo Emerson described the chickadee, as a "scrap of valor";

How about this:

3. They must consume enough calories, every day, to add 10% to their body weight, which they then burn overnight!!

4. They have a deep-rooted, self-confidence;

5. They are a songbird, and are known for their cheerful calls: "chick-a-dee-dee-dee";

6. Ralph Waldo Emerson also said, that they are known for their fearlessness, and ability to endure frigid winters!;

So what were the messages, that my Mom took away from this experience?

1. Face your own challenges, with courage and confidence;

2. Their lively cheerful nature is often, a symbol of Joy. A sign to focus on the happy moments, and find Joy in the present;

3. They have an ability to thrive, in different environments....maybe a message to be more adaptable, and open to change in your life;

4. A reminder to be present.

My Mom said she felt CONNECTED.

Really connected, to a wild animal.

Ok, a really small one,

but CONNECTED.

If we are all ONE,

every being,

every living, breathing plant, tree;

every rock and mountain;

stream and river and ocean,

and all their inhabitants;

and clouds in the sky;

then let's try to be PRESENT,

be ONE with them, quietly.

Perhaps we'll breathe a little easier,

think a little deeper,

Love a little more fully,

speak and act in a more kind manner.

We think there's "FREEDOM" in this.

Freedom from small thinking,

narrow views,

unkindnesses,

violences and anger.

All of this,

from a little group of valorous birds,

with their tiny little feet,

with tiny little sharp claws.

My Mom can't wait to be with them again.

She says it's like standing next to a very large horse,

sensing everything about them,

except on a really really smaller scale.

Life is short.

Reach out your hand.

With great Love,

Maisy Star (born a "star"gazer)ā¤ļø
