WOW!!
My Mom finished her "horse course",
as I like to call it.
She really wasn't sure that she could do it.
It truly was like boot camp.
Started at 8 sharp, 2 hours of lecture,
always beginning with an "air massage".
The whole class (12 students),
standing and practicing the massage strokes...in the air.
a 5 minute break (what?),
then down to the barn on the property (where school is),
or to 2 other barns with more horses,
for 2 hours of hands on work,
identifying where the muscles and the tendons,
and ligaments are,
and practicing the body strokes.
Then a 1/2 hour bring your own lunch, break.
Then in the afternoon, a repeat of the morning,
and back to the classroom for another hour!
My Mom was done, after the barn work!
After that last hour, she went back to the hotel,
to grab a bite,
and start on the homework for the next day.
Wait, what?😳
A couple of times in the 1st 4 days,
my Mom said she didn't think she could keep up the pace.
but as time went on, my Mom got into the groove,
and lightened up a bit.
There was a "day off" between the first 4 days,
and the second 4 days,
but it was not a true break.
They had to prepare a mock massage session.
Her teacher, is Debranne Pallitto,
see (EquinologyInstitute.com).
Deb is renowned in the field of equine bodywork,
and man oh man,
my Mom wanted to know the secret of her non-stop energy.
My Mom thinks it's in Deb's DNA.
She has an unmatched work ethic,
determination,
she's a visionary,
with a razor sharp intellect...and she's a true leader.
She's an icon.
Deb's teaching assistant Aya Ament,
was a perfect right hand person for Deb.
Aya is a certified Level 2 Equine Bodyworker,
with a great deal of experience,
and knowledge.
Congratulations Aya!🥳🥂
And my Mom thanks you for all the snacks!
Now to the externship!
My Mom will have to master the massage,
gait analysis and I'm not sure what else.
But I do know it's A LOT A LOT!
And along with attending paperwork,
there has to be a video of my Mom,
doing the 12 sections of bodywork
on a horse!
She has 8 months,
to submit all the necessary,
and required assessments of horses!
You can do it Mom!!
After driving home from Penngrove,
(about 3.5 to 4 hours),
Mom unpacked a bit,
(lots of stuff from 10 days away),
and spent time with Onyx,
who was THRILLED to see my Mom.
Then she put some snacks together,
poured some celebratory prosecco,
had some bites and sips,
and promptly fell right to sleep on the sofa.

My Mom was the eldest of the students.
She felt it too,
as it took her time,
to throw off her self-consciousness,
as everyone else in the class,
seemed to be far more experienced,
and many decades younger.
One thing shared by all however,
is everyone's love of horses,
and all animals,
running around each of the properties we were on.
There were goats, pigs, roosters, chickens,
ducks, dogs, cats, you name it.

For my Mom,
simply watching a horse move,
or simply watching one standing,
sends a big smile across my Mom's face.
These majestic, magnificent beings,
have captured something in my Mom's soul.
And this course,
is just another way to deepen this connection.
My Mom's brother Mark, and his wife Barbie,
treated my Mom to a beautiful (much needed) dinner,
along with a pretty horse hat,
and they brought friends Janice and Rich,
who gave my Mom the cutest horse towel,
(that's a glass of wine on the horse's head!).
My Mom was deeply touched by this celebration.
At 74,
they treated my Mom like a new high school graduate.
Yes, there were tears involved.

Such support, such Love.
We wish this for all of you.
Celebrate all of your accomplishments!🥳🥂
May your families and friends appreciate your life efforts.
Gosh, it feels good,
knowing that others walk our paths with us.🥰
Much Much Love,
MAISY❤️
