February 2, 2026 New Year Suggestions Seem To Be Taking Hold!
Maybe a little compassion and kindness for ourselves and others, is the way!

The 9 day warning bell has rung,
and has come and gone!
And guess what?
My Mom is still going to Senior CrossFit,
and is still having more vegetables and fruits,
and is ever more conscious of,
trying to stay away from eating what was once,
a living being.
That last one is a bit more difficult,
for a person who has spent decades,
eating meats and fish regularly.
I think that "trying",
indicates a conscious awareness,
that is in the direction my Mom wants to go.
She is not a Buddhist,
but does belong to a Buddhist meditation group.
Part of the "mindfulness" training,
does not specifically involve vegetarianism,
but it is an awareness of the suffering,
caused by food choices.
All of this is to say,
that my Mom's "way of being",
for the New Year,
is now entering,
the second month of the New Year.
You can do it Mom!!
And you too can do it,
faithful followers!
One day at a time!
I'm not sure if you've noticed,
but my Mom and Patti Zorr,
(her marketing strategist),
have begun posting video clips,
on Instagram, under "rescuewriter",
and Facebook.
The video clips,
have been about my Mom's visits,
with the horses,
at Sheridan Creek Equestrian Center,
in Gardnerville, Nevada.
If you have been reading my,
"Written by Maisy Star" blog posts,
you know that my Mom,
has been going to the ranch,
since Spring of 2024,
so it's nearly 2 years now!
She started by taking,
some horseback riding lessons and now,
"just" brushes and loves many of them,
twice a week.
Anyway, the video clips are my Mom's,
of the horses and the countryside in Gardnerville,
with my Mom telling stories about the horses,
and what she's doing with them,
on any particular day.
People seem to like them a lot,
so our wanting to expand our audience,
in 2026,
may just be happening!
Sheridan Creek is not a horse rescue,
but Kristen Roberson, ranch owner,
has rescued,
quite a few of the horses she now owns.
Wiki, my Mom's main boy,
is one of Kristen's rescues,
and has captured my Mom's heart.

She grew to love him after the 3 senior horses,
my Mom originally started grooming,
(Max, Mija and Scootery Dootery)
had passed away.
My Mom didn't take it personally,
that they passed in the same year,
she started caring for them.
Mija and Scooter were in their mid 90s,
in human years,
and Maxie was 110!!
Good Lord.
My Mom is just happy,
she was able to give these beautiful beings,
a lot of TLC at the end of their lives.

So, that's what's new,
on the business side of things,
at the start of this New Year.
And if you'll recall from the last post,
my Mom was hoping,
(but not actually truly believing),
that meditative coloring, with her left hand,
would help my Mom to process some,
"unresolved emotional issues".
Well, lo and behold,
my Mom had another Reiki session,
with Marianne Schneider,
of Fifth Element Healing Center,
in Tahoe City, California,
and what came up?
An unresolved emotional issue.
After nearly 20 years,
It seems my Mom left out the part,
about forgiving her former partner,
and herself, regarding their relationship.
That was a HUGE piece of emotional burden,
being carried around,
that needed final resolution.
She's working on this forgiveness piece,
with the Hawaiian prayer,
"Ho'oponopono".
Have you heard of it?
It's origin is very cool.
My Mom read Dr. Hew Len's story of his use of the prayer,
while treating the criminally insane.
It's pretty extraordinary.
The prayer has 4 phrases:
"I'm sorry"
(acknowledge your role in creating the problem);
"Please forgive me"
(express remorse and a request for forgiveness);
"Thank you"
(shows gratitude for the opportunity to learn and grow);
"I love you"
(sends love to yourself, others,
or the situation fostering acceptance).
So, after all these years,
my Mom is saying this prayer,
in hopes of finally resolving,
the emotional depth of her relationship,with the man she was in love with.
I might suggest that she use the prayer,
for the other significant love relationships in her life.
Phew.....she's got a lot of work to do.
Forgiveness, may be the missing element,
for a final release,
of emotional "baggage",
people carry around with them,
frankly, from one relationship to another.
Yikes!
And maybe the forgiveness,
needs to go back to our relationships from birth.
This may be getting out of hand,
but who knows, maybe not.
I think my Mom should start with this one relationship first.
I'm expecting big changes,
in the emotional department for my Mom.
It feels good already.
So, that's 30 days in, to the New Year.
Seems like it's really going to be a great year,
in many ways.
